Oct 31, 2023 at 3:30 comment added Kevin Reid AG6YO @oberstet That's a fairly complex topic, involving a lot of convention as well as regulation — but even if it were simple I'd tell you the same: post a new question so that it's properly filed and it gets more eyes on it. Comments should be used mainly to request/propose clarification of a question or answer.
Oct 30, 2023 at 23:24 comment added oberstet very interesting, thanks for introducing the term "fractional bandwidth" here! I am wondering: do you have numbers for "fractional channel bandwidth" across bands? in Europe / UK, among the HF bands, the 60m band allows 12.5kHz, while all other (HF) bands top out at 2.7kHz (or 6kHz for 10m), which makes 60m attractive? fwiw, 2m/70cm allows 25kHz, and only 23cm allows 150kHz, also: I assume 1 sender may only use 1 channel concurrently? what's "the" bandwidth of a sender sending in 2 slots each say 12.5kHz wide, but not adjacent, say "channel 0" and "channel 10"?
