May 13, 2018 at 21:50 comment added Lance Yes, I've seen that. I have no donor radios with the correct S record and I can't find the right one anywhere on-line either. Thanks for your help though.
May 13, 2018 at 16:03 comment added QBFreak The best way I've found for us mere mortals to change control heads is to get an S-Record out of a donor radio that has the same band but the control head you want. Some details can be gleaned from the following links: austech.info/showthread.php/113003-Astro-Spectra-depot communications.support/threads/358-MCS2000-Serial-Number-Change
May 13, 2018 at 3:41 comment added Lance Yes, I have that. I meant the tool needed to change the control heads.
May 13, 2018 at 0:36 comment added QBFreak I believe the latest version of Astro Spectra CPS is 5.03.00.
May 12, 2018 at 2:38 comment added Lance Yeah, I may have Spectra software. Do you have any idea what version the A/S software is? Or where I might find it?
May 11, 2018 at 22:39 comment added QBFreak Be aware that the software for the Spectra is not the software for the Astro Spectra. I remember beating my head on that back when I was a green tech until someone clued me in.
May 11, 2018 at 22:15 comment added Lance Yes, I have the CPS working just fine in XP. But I'm trying to change the control heads and that requires a DOS based tool. Though at this point, I'm not positive I have the right one.
May 11, 2018 at 18:30 comment added QBFreak The Astro Spectra typically uses the Windows-based Astro Spectra CPS. It will not work with the DOS Spectra RSS.
May 11, 2018 at 15:52 comment added Lance >>has worked for 99% of the radios... What is the 1% it didn't work on? I'm having a great deal of trouble with Astro Spectras, I'm also using a D630 and I have it dual booting into DOS.
